Catholic schools surpass public schools in Nation’s Report Card

The Nation’s Report Card by the National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) released national scores for fourth- and eighth-grade mathematics and reading. Catholic school students in both grades surpassed public school students in both categories.

Supreme Court sets date to hear Oklahoma Catholic charter school case

“Justices will consider two primary questions. The first is whether a privately run charter school truly represents an arm of the state when providing a free education while chiefly relying on taxpayer funds,” Oklahoma Voice reported, adding that the second question deals with whether or not St. Isidore’s claim of religious discrimination is valid.

Catholic Schools Ready for Education Voucher Bill to Pass

As Texas lawmakers push forward with a school voucher program, Catholic schools across the state are preparing for a possible increase in enrollment. The proposed program would provide families with state-funded education savings accounts, allowing them to use public money for private school tuition.

More gains for school choice across the country

Idaho has enacted a school choice bill that would allow parents to use public funds to send their kids to private schools, and two other Republican-controlled states are moving closer to approving similar legislation.
